Forming a New Team with United Soccer of Allouez

Picture
Forming a new team within the United Soccer of Allouez is a relatively easy process. Because of the structure within the Allouez club, starting a new team is primarily dependent upon the resources and time of the parents of the future players. Starting a team requires identifying a manager and a coach for the team. All coaches are required to have a certified coaching license from the state that qualifies them for various coaching levels. In addition to coaches & managers, it is recommended that a new team identify an individual to serve as the team treasurer to handle all financial matters for the team.

Individuals wishing to form a new team should contact the Allouez club president in the fall of the year preceding the spring/summer session in which they would like to participate. Each team is responsible for obtaining their own players and equipment. While the Allouez club will hold and coordinate tryout times in early August of each year, each team is responsible for conducting their own tryouts if they desire to have tryouts at all.

Necessary equipment will vary be team and is the responsibility of the team. Most teams will purchase the following equipment:

Balls (practice & game) - 6
Corner Flags (1 set of 4)
Goalie Jersey and Gloves
Scrimmage Vests - 18
Cones, Markers - 2 sets
First Aid Kit
Uniforms (2 jerseys, shorts, socks) - 18

Total cost is approximately $1900 for the above equipment.

When new teams are formed, it is expected that the team will supply a representative to the United Soccer of Allouez board meetings. The representative will be the primary point of contact for all club related information to be sent to the individual teams. In addition, each team is expected to take on at least one role within the club for the entire season.

Any question regarding the process of starting a new team can be directed to the club president.
